The scenic drive to the AUTSA Lodge is about 4 hours from Auckland.

Head south through Huntly, Ngaruawahia, Otorohanga, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui – from here signs will direct you the rest of the way to Tongariro National Park.

Te Kuiti is about half way and a great place to stop and stretch your legs. Grab a great coffee and some amazing food at Bosco cafe if you are driving past in the day time.

The last big supermarket is in Taumarunui so it is a good place to stock up on food and essentials for your stay.
