ACHERON COTTAGES are situated at 98B Hillside/Manapouri Road, Manapouri.
• Self- contained units situated just outside the township with a rural setting.
• The use of energy efficient heating and air conditioning units along with the insulation and double glazing means the cottages are always warm but very quiet as well.
• One of our cottages is fully set up as an accessible unit for disabled persons. This meant installing a wheelchair ramp, wider doors than normal, handrails and a fully accessible bathroom.
• The bathrooms in both cottages feature wet floor showers and non-slip floor coverings. Gas water heating is used.
• The master bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed and features a sliding glass door onto the spacious outside deck.
• The second bedroom has two single beds and also features a built in wardrobe. A comfortable fold out bed, porta-cot (and high chair) are also available.
• The laundry features a modern washing machine, clothes dryer, iron and ironing board along with clothes pegs, indoor or outdoor line and complimentary laundry detergent.
• The kitchen backs onto the dining area via an island bar giving an open plan design.
• Located only a couple of minutes’ drive to the Doubtful Sound tour departure point and 20 minutes’ drive to Te Anau.

Acheron Cottages have outdoor BBQ's and gas cooking facilities indoors.

All linen provided. Serviced daily or as required.
Toiletries provided.
Washing machine, indoor or outdoor drying facilities and complimentary washing powder supplied.
Complimentary tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, sugar, etc. are all provided along with cooking oil for the pans or barbecue.

Car Parking

There are off road car parking facilities at the property.
Please take care when coming out of the property as it comes onto the main roads.

Location / Distances

Acheron Cottages;

• Is 15 minutes’ walk or 2 minutes’ drive from Pearl Harbour – departure point for Doubtful Sound tours.
• Is an easy 20 minutes’ drive to Te Anau which has 2 large supermarkets along with the DOC visitor centre, banks and other shopping requirements (Manapouri does have a local store for general supplies).
• Is 2 – 2.5 hours’ drive to Milford Sound – the ideal location to make this a day trip.

Acheron Cottages are located at 98 Hillside/Manapouri Road - this is the road that comes in from the Southern Scenic route from the south. There is a big blue sign with "Acheron Cottages" out near the roadside at the property.
