Prices below show the minimum person charge for each pitch type which is 2 people for an EHU or vehicle bay, but 1 person for unallocated tents. Additional charges are added to this price during the booking process e.g. for EHU, vehicle charges or additional adults as well as a non-refundable £5 booking fee. Please note:

  • Vehicles 6 - 8m long are only accepted on lakeside motorhome bays.
  • Not Available means we are already full for those dates or are closed for the winter.
  • Include all guests as they cannot be added later if we are full.
  • You can make requests e.g. for a specific bay, but we cannot always comply
  • Bookings of more than 8 people are not be accepted, 15 is the maximum who can camp together.

If a booking is found to be dishonest or incorrect when checking tent tags – eg, with undeclared guests, dogs or extras –  you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.

 Cancellation policy: No refunds for cancellations or moving dates made less than 14 days before arrival. We do not give refunds because of bad weather as this is out of our control.

Large van no awning, lakeside bay

A bay with stone hard-standing for a van or motorhome up to 8m long, with electric hook-up, on the lakeside area of the site. Each bay has room for a standard Fiammi-style wind-out awning up to 1.5m but not for a larger or stand-alone awning on grass. The price is for a minimum of 2 adults. Extral charges for the vehicle, EHU and any additional people will be added during the booking process. Small vans, which may only use wind-out awnings, may be booked into these bays and will be charged at the the large van rate.
   
Small van or roof tent bay with EHU

A bay with hard-standing or reinforced grass for a small van less than 5.5m long and 3 tons in weight, or for a car with roof tent that has awnings on one side of the vehicle only so it can be parked straight in on hard-standing not sideways across it. There is grass to the side of the bay which has electric hook-up. Price is for 2 adults minimum and charges for the EHU, vehicle and any extra people are added during the booking process. These bays can accommodate only one tent, and your vehicle can be near but not adjacent to your pitch.
   
Unallocated tent pitch no EHU

A grass tent pitch that you select yourself on arrival. Parking for your vehicle is available around the edges of the camping field and will not always be by your tent. Vans over 6m are not accepted with a tent pitch and no vehicle may be occupied. There are no reserved spaces with this booking and the pitch can take multiple tents but occupied by no more than15 people; all the tents must be occupied. The price displayed is per adult and the daily extra charge for a car is added as you book. Arrive early to have the greatest choice of pitch. You may choose an early check-in if you wish to arrive before 2 pm (but it must be after 9 am). You cannot reserve pitches for others.

Llyn Gwynant campsite lies below Snowdon in the most beautiful valley in Wales. It is an ideal base for walking, swimming and other adventure activities. You can walk up Mount Snowdon directly from the site or simply enjoy natural beauty and quiet beside the lake or river, relaxing by your own camp fire.

Property Facilities

The campsite consists of green fields and woodlands beside a lake and river below the mountains. All customers must book in advance. Those wanting hook-ups are allocated a bay and we have some bays without hookups. Those bringing tents who do not need electric hook-ups find their own place to camp when they arrive on a first in first served basis. The campsite offers large toilet block, free hot showers a washing up area with microwaves and a laundry.. Reception has a small shop and our Cegin offers takeaway meals in the main season, with picnic tables nearby.

Natural fields and woodlands, with mountains above, overlooking a lake, with a shared beach area that has no camping, for all to enjoy.

Carparking for all campers though this may not be beside your tent.

Directions to Property

Take a turn off the A498, just at the head of the lake (north end), beside our large green campsite sign. Large vehicles such as motorhomes can only access the entrance by taking a left hand turn heading north (up the hill), and so you may need to turn in the layby beside the lake.

The grid reference for the campsite is 648525. Note that a number of sat navs and on-line post code locators (such as MultiMap.com and StreetMap.co.uk) give incorrect locations for this postcode LL55 4NW and place the campsite at the wrong end of the lake! The Ordinance Survey map shows the campsite correctly at the north end of the lake.

Additional Information

Tents wanting electric hook-up must be no larger than 7 x 5m, those who do not need electricity book unallocated pitches where tents may be larger than this.

Payment Policy

Payment in full is due at the point of booking, which is online. Bookings are mandatory for all arrivals. See our website for Terms and Conditions or use our contact form to find out more.

Cancellation Policy

No refunds or moving dates for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before arrival. With more than 2 weeks notice we do refund all but the booking fee. We do not give refunds because of bad weather as this is out of our control.

Child Policy

The child rate applies to children aged 4 - 15 years who are with a family group, under 4's are free.

Check In Policy

Booking check-in time is after 2.00 pm and check out before 11.00 am, though early check-in and late check-out can be purchased as an extra.
