The Rainforest Motel is a family-owned and operated motel situated in the small, picturesque village of Fox Glacier on the West Coast of the South Island
Property Facilities
We have 12 ground-floor units, situated on spacious grounds in a beautiful garden setting. We have 6 studio units, 2 x 1-bedroom units and 4 x 2-bedroom units. We are a traditional New Zealand motel with well-equipped kitchens and ensuite bathrooms. So whether you are traveling by yourself, with a group of friends or with your whole family we should have an accommodation option to suit you.
We provide free fibre broadband and are the only motel in Fox Glacier offering SKY TV, including SKY Movies, SKY Sports and BBC World.

We have 12 ground-floor Fox Glacier accommodation units located in our spacious grounds. All our motel units are smokefree.
All our rooms, regardless of room type, have the following facilities:
Queen-size or full single beds (no rollaways)
Electric blankets on all beds
Effective wall heaters, with extra blankets and heaters for really cold nights
Fully equipped kitchens, suitable for making a quick breakfast or more substantial dinner, 2 of the 2-bedroom units (rooms 7 and 8) have full ovens
Microwave ovens in all rooms
Ironing board and iron
Ensuite bathroom with powerful showers
Satellite TV (including SKY Sports, SKY Movies and BBC World)

Yes carparking is available outside each unit.
Location / Distances
We are within walking distance of a number of good-quality restaurants serving great food, wines and coffee, yet only a short drive will take you to the spectacular ice formations of the Fox Glacier, the tranquil beauty of Lake Matheson and the Peak Viewpoint, or the wild, rugged coastline at Gillespies Beach.

Payment Policy
No prepayment is required when booking directly. Credit card number is taken at time of booking to secure the reservation only.
Cancellation Policy
We require 48 hours notice to cancel a booking without penalty. If the booking is cancelled within the 48 hour period then a 100% cancellation fee will be charged.
Child Policy
1 child under 2 can stay free of charge in the room using existing bedding.
