Stunning character country home located approx 10 km north of the Kaikoura
This strawbale house is surrounded by groves of native Kanuka in a peaceful rural setting with impressive mountain views and spacious grounds.
Up to seven guests can sleep comfortably with 2 large bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and a master bedroom downstairs with ensuite bathroom. Single bedroom with king single.The ensuite features a double shower, and clawfoot bath with garden/mountain views from bifold windows.
Two bedrooms contain comfortable king size beds, while one of the upstairs rooms has a super king which can be split into twin single beds as required.
All towels, bedding and linen are supplied along with complimentary toiletries.
Guests will enjoy a large country kitchen, dining room, comfortable sunny lounge and separate laundry.
The living rooms have french doors opening directly out to sheltered deck areas, large outdoor table and expansive lawn with a Springfree trampoline.
The house features rustic hardwood beams, sills and handcrafted stairway. Natural lime plaster walls, solid oak floors, 100% wool carpets, low VOC paint finishes, tasteful furnishings, log burner, double glazing and excellent insulation which maintains a stable temperature even on very hot summer days.
Wifi, Freeview TV, Netflix, DVD, Nespresso machine, mountain bikes available on request.
For an additional fee our qualified chef with 18 years experience is available for catering needs by pre arrangement. Vegetarian, vegan, and celiac options available. Our chef has a passion for seasonal, locally grown, nutrient dense organic produce. We are able to offer a full service of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and picnic hampers can be made for outings. Take a 20 minute stroll up the road to the upper Hapuku river bed where you will find a deep swimming hole in a very scenic location - a mountain bike track through the forest to the Hapuku beach also starts from here.
Guided walks to NZ’s biggest totara tree can be arranged. Walking trails for experienced trampers to back country huts also begin in this area. Guiding maybe available by pre arrangement.
Iconic local surf breaks are a 5 minute drive north from this property.
Massages therapist, beautician, yoga and meditation can also be made available by prior arrangement.

Payment Policy
A credit card is required as a security bond. (Even if you are paying via Internet Banking) There are no transactions taken for a security bond. This is a non transactional method for securing against damage or excess cleaning.
If you are paying by credit card we will deduct funds on the day of arrival. Please note there is a 3.1% credit card fee on top of your tariff. OR you may choose to pay via Internet Banking . Our banking details are:

If you are unable to secure your booking with a credit card, we require a deposit be paid. 30% of full tariff is required and must be paid at the time of booking with full payment made 14 days prior to check-in. Late payments of deposit: The balance due must be received on or before its due date. If your payment fails to reach us by the due date we may choose to cancel your booking with or without notice to you, and make the property available to others. Cancellation charges apply (see below).
Cancellation Policy
During COVID times Kaikoura Holiday Homes offer 100% refunds for COVID related cancellations. If you have booked through an agent such as Airbnb, Booking.com you will need to contact them directly.

Cancellation within 14 days of the scheduled start of stay results in a cancellation charge amounting to 50.0% of the total booking charge
Cancellation within 7 days of the scheduled start of stay results in a cancellation charge amounting to 100.0% of the total booking charge
Should WE cancel the booking due to YOUR NON-PAYMENT: Should any of your payments fail to reach us by their due date we have the right to cancel the booking with or without providing you with notice. Under these circumstances our standard cancellation charges apply.
Cancellation by Owner/Manager
If, due to circumstances beyond our control, the property becomes unavailable or unfit for use, we will notify you as soon as possible and refund your money in full.

Self Check in.Check-in is from 2.00pm and Check-out 10.00am. Kaikoura Holiday Homes will send you an email approx. 5 days prior to your arrival giving you details of how to access the home. If you require different check-in / check-out times we are happy to accommodate if possible, so please contact us. Please return house keys to where you got them from.
